my bot usually isn't autofollowing, Tweeting, aso unless I check it's status.
That leads to a storm of tweets, when I only check once a day...
is this supposed to be like that?

Not sure I understand, what do you mean will not reply? How are you accessing your bot, what is your bot's name?
